Introduction

While Loopy Loyalty makes it super easy to set up standard digital stamp cards, sometimes you want to go beyond the basics. This guide shows you how to customize each stamp image to be truly unique, making your digital stamp card an interactive and engaging experience for your customers.

Requirements

Before you begin, please note: This advanced customization requires some design work and the use of a third-party image editing tool.

Design Software

You will need access to and working knowledge of a graphic design program such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, GIMP, or similar software.

Image Creation

You will be responsible for creating all custom images for your background and individual stamps. Loopy Loyalty does not provide these images.

Attention to Detail

This method involves precise measurements and careful alignment, so patience and attention to detail are key to achieving the best results.

If you're comfortable with these requirements, you're ready to create a truly personalized and dynamic digital stamp card!

Considerations

Important Note on Stamp Order

When designing your custom background image, please be aware that the order in which stamps are issued cannot be changed. Stamps will always fill in a fixed pattern: from top-left to bottom-right, row by row (i.e., the first stamp appears in the top-left, then proceeds across the top row, then moves to the left of the next row, and so on). Design your sequential stamp images with this fixed progression in mind.

Imagine the possibilities

Monthly Progress

Each stamp represents a month, perfect for subscription services or annual packages to show consumption over time.

Mystery Prizes

Every stamp earned reveals a different mystery prize, adding an element of surprise and delight. Who doesn't love a good reveal?

Part 1. Prepare Your Custom Stamp Template

To ensure your custom stamps align perfectly with Loopy Loyalty's card structure, you'll first create a template from your existing card design.

1. Set Your Stamp Count

First, decide and set the total number of stamps you want on your digital stamp card within Loopy Loyalty. This is a critical step, as it determines the precise layout for your template. Once you start designing, changing the stamp count means starting this process over.

2. Inspect Your Card Design

  • On your Loopy Loyalty Design page, right-click anywhere on your digital stamp card preview.

  • Select "Inspect" or "Inspect Element" from the context menu. Don't worry about the code that pops up; we just need to grab a specific image.

3. Locate and Save the Base Image

  • In the developer tools (the pane that just opened), look for a line that starts with style="background-image:url(.

  • Copy the URL highlighted within this line (it will typically end in .svg).

  • Paste this URL into a new browser tab and press Enter. This will load the base image of your stamp card.

  • Change the File Type: In the URL bar, find where it says .svg at the very end and change it to .png. Press Enter again. This will load a higher-quality, transparent version of the image.

  • Save the Image: Right-click on the displayed image and choose "Save image as..." to save it to your computer.

Why this template is essential

This saved image acts as your guide. It shows the exact positioning and size of each stamp circle on your card, ensuring that your custom designs will fit perfectly when customers earn a stamp.

Part 2: Design Your Unique Stamp Images

Now for the creative part! You'll use the template you just saved to design what each stamp will look like.

Important Note on Stamp Order: When designing your custom background image, please be aware that the order in which stamps are issued cannot be changed. Stamps will always fill in a fixed pattern: from top-left to bottom-right, row by row (i.e., the first stamp appears in the top-left, then proceeds across the top row, then moves to the left of the next row, and so on). Design your sequential stamp images with this fixed progression in mind.

1. Open Your Template in Photoshop (or similar software)

Open the .png image you just saved. This image has transparent circles where your stamps will appear.

2. Place Your Custom Stamp Designs

Create your unique stamp images/designs and carefully position each one over the corresponding transparent circle on the template.

  • Example: If you have a 12-stamp card for a monthly program, design 12 distinct images (e.g., "Jan," "Feb," "Mar") and place each over its designated circle.

  • Design Flexibility: You have complete creative freedom here! You can fully cover the circle, use a square, or integrate the circle into a larger design.

3. Export Your Custom Background Image

Once you've placed all your unique stamp designs, hide or delete the original template layer from your design software. Your canvas should now display only your custom stamp designs against a transparent background. Export this final image as a PNG. This will be the "background image" you upload to Loopy Loyalty, containing all your pre-designed, sequential stamps.

4. Create Your Unstamped Image

This is what will visually "cover" your custom stamps on the card before they are issued.

  • Open a new document in Photoshop (or your chosen design software).

  • Set the canvas size to 200 pixels (width) by 200 pixels (height).

  • Design your "unstamped" image. This could be a simple yellow circle, a greyed-out version of your main stamp design, a question mark, or any other icon that indicates an unearned stamp.

  • Export this image as a PNG.

To help with precise positioning, if you are using 12 stamps and Photoshop you can download a pre-made template here:

Part 3: Adjust Settings and Upload to Loopy Loyalty

The final steps involve telling Loopy Loyalty to use your custom images instead of its default stamp designs.

Adjust Opacity Settings

In your Loopy Loyalty Design page, you need to make the default stamp elements transparent so your custom images can shine through. Adjust the opacity for the following settings to 0 (zero):

  • Stamp circle: Set opacity to 0.

  • Stamp circle border: Set opacity to 0.

  • Stamped image: Set opacity to 0.

  • Note: The opacity setting is typically the last numerical field within the brackets for each of these options. Setting them to 0 ensures that Loopy Loyalty's default stamp visuals are invisible, allowing your custom-designed stamps to be fully displayed.

2. Upload Your Custom Images

  • Upload the PNG image you created in Part 2, Step 3 (the one with all your pre-designed stamps) to the "Background" section on the Design page.

  • Upload the unstamped image you created in Part 2, Step 4 to the "Unstamped Image" section.

3. Preview and Activate:

  • Use the preview option in Loopy Loyalty to see how your card looks on a mobile device. This is crucial for checking alignment and overall appearance.

  • Once you're completely satisfied with your unique stamp card design, activate your card design!

What Your Card Will Look Like

With this advanced customization, your digital stamp card will transform:

  • Blank Card (Left): Your card will initially display your custom background image, with your unstamped image covering each stamp spot.

  • Stamped Card (Right): As customers earn stamps, each "unstamped" spot will be replaced by the corresponding pre-designed stamp from your custom background image, revealing a unique image with every new stamp!
